About Niraj

I'm Niraj Shah — a Qi Gong teacher, poet, and visual artist based in Montclair, NJ.

I came to Qi Gong through my own search for presence, grounding, and a way to move through the world with less tension and more ease. What I found was a practice that works from the inside out — not pushing, not forcing. Just being, circulating, releasing, and returning to center.

My teaching style is accessible and unhurried. No prior experience needed — just a willingness to show up and feel.

I teach weekly in-person classes in Montclair and offer a growing library of online sessions you can practice anywhere, anytime.

Not at all. Most people who come are trying this for the first time. Everything is simple, and you can go at your own pace.

No, the movements are gentle and adaptable to your body. You don’t need any experience or fitness level to start.

Some moves can be done sitting.

There’s nothing to keep up with. This is your practice — you move at your own level the entire time.

Most people notice a shift even after one class — feeling a bit calmer, more relaxed, or more present. It builds over time, but you’ll feel something right away.

Slow, relaxed movement with intentional breathing. Most people leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing and flexible shoes or wear sox or go barefoot.

Also bring a water bottle.

Just enough space to stand and move your arms. Any flat surface works.
